United States Army 38th Field Artillery Regiment Unit Crest (Steel Behind the Rock)

Criteria: This item is the unit crest, or distinctive unit insignia, of the 38th Field Artillery Regiment. The unit's motto, "Steel Behind The Rock," is printed on the bottom scroll and alludes to the unit's primary mission. The color red refers to the unit's Artillery designation. The three bars and eight shells represent the numerical affiliation of the unit. The mountain atop the design represents Mount Rainier, located in the unit's home state of Washington.
