This unusual, weighty piece dates from the 1930s and is marked Mexico Silver.  The braided, serpentine links form a bold choker collar measuring 15 1/2" or 39cm and weighing an incredible 136g. The beautiful metalwork gives this vintage piece a modern edge.  This is a statement collar fit for a goddess!

This piece comes from a larger collection of vintage silver acquired in the American Southwest and Mexico.  This is the heaviest and boldest of all the pieces from this grouping dating from the 1930s-early 40s.  As I have organised, repaired and polished the pieces of this particular collector (though this piece only needed a slight polish as it is in unworn condition) I was struck by her elegant taste and eye for drama. I almost feel as if I knew her, though she passed away over 60 years ago.
