After crossing the Red Sea and leaving Egypt, Moses, Aaron and Miriam rejoice with their followers. The contemporary graphic design created with Julie Staller-Pentelnik retells the story of the exodus. The exodus marks the beginning of the Jewish nation and year after year during the Passover seder, the story of the exodus is retold in the Haggadah. As the Haggadah states, ""In every generation one is obligated to look upon himself as if he or she personally has gone forth out of Egypt"".< p>

The Passover seder plate had six separate sections for special foods central to the seder ceremony - shank bone, roasted egg, horseradish, haroset, parsley and bitter herbs. A few explanations are are follows:< p>

The bitter herbs (maror) symbolizes the bitterness of being a slave in Egypt. The haroset (nuts, fruit, and wine) is the mortar made by the Hebrew slaves. The shank bone represents the lamb that was the sacrifice on the eve of the Exodus. < p>
