This gorgeous Cinnabar Elephant Large Bead Obsidian Bracelet features a giant red hand carved Cinnabar elephant bead in a Ganesha type pose, against a background of large finely polished Obsidian and Mother of Pearl beads. In many cultures elephants are sacred animals, symbolizing great strength and wisdom, and have been with us since before recorded history.

Cinnabar is a bright red mineral compound of mercury sulfide which has a fascinating history, having been used for thousands of years to carve jewelry, art and housewares, and also in some Chinese medicines (although we dont recommend you ingest it!).

Obsidian or "Dragon Glass" is a naturally forming volcanic glass, and has been used the world over to make knives, tools, jewelry and art. In Mexico it is so important it has been considered a "Gift of the Gods" for millennia. Obsidian is still used today to make surgical knives.
