Metatron's Cube is a traditional design made by connecting the centres of 13 circles arranged as the 'Fruit of Life'. The lines create accurate projections of the cube within cube, tetrahedron within tetrahedron, and octahedron within octahedron. They also create a close approximation to the projection of the icosahedron, and (with a few small extra lines added) the dodecahedron. Thus the full set of Platonic solids representing the most basic symmetries of higher dimensional space are made visible within the two dimensional hexagonal grid of circles.
Here the 6 outer circles are filled with the Platonic solids, (the tetrahedron is represented in its more balanced form as a startetrahedron), and the Sphere.
Metatron's Cube is a key to understanding the symmetries by which energy takes form in the crystalline matrix of space and time.
Below is a quote and illustration from our book 'Understand Sacred Geometry and the Flower of Life - a Higher DImensional Perspective on an Ancient Wisdom Stream'.
"Traditionally Metatron is the name of the Archangel scribe who sits before the throne of Divinity and records the Divine utterances. Wikipedia says his name’s etymology is from ‘a divider and fixer of boundaries, a measurer’. Appropriately therefore, among Metatron’s many titles is ‘Angel of Sacred Geometry’.
For a 2D design to be called a ‘cube’, rather than a hexagon, indicates to me that its purpose is to illustrate the presence of higher dimensional forms within the triangular/hexagonal 2D grid. Not just the 3D Platonic solids. For instance it contains the cube within cube projection of the 4D hypercube."
