Title: Raising Children
Publisher: Abul-Qasim Publishing House
Description:
In this day and age, the importance of raising children according to the standards of Islam is more important than ever. Author Faramarz bin Muhammad Rahbar explains this in his book "Raising Children According to the Quran and Sunnah". He describes the challenges of Muslim parents raising their children in a modern world where material things often take precedent over spiritual matters, particularly in the West. He touches on the topics of essential educational components for kids, as well as psychological, ethical, and sexual problems that children (especially older children) face in the modern world. This is an important handbook for any Muslim parent.
Faramarz Muhammad Rahbar was born in 1950 in the Baluchistan province of Iran. At the age of 18 he emigrated to the United States. He completed his B.S. in Civil and Construction Engineering in 1972 and his M.S. in 1989 at Iowa State University. IN 1975 he married Layne Daleen Guss, who converted to Islam in 1979. Rahbar has lived in many places in the United States and the Middle East, working for major companies such as Bechtel, Pacific Gas and Electric, and Saudi Aramco. Currently he works for Saudi Aramco in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where he lives with his wife and five children. Rahbar has been active in Islamic institutions in the United States for over 20 years. He also served as president of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) at California Polytechnic Institute (1986-1987) and as president of the Muslim Student Association (MSA) at Iowa State University (1990-1991). He has published several technical papers and articles and is currently an active member of the Islamic Society of North America and the American Association of Cost Engineers (AACE).
