Supplies

• Bold Strokes Stars Classic Accents® Variety Pack  T10660
• Emoji Talk superShapes Stickers - Large  T46350
• String, scissors, colored tissue paper or Washi tape, clear contact paper, glue, repositionable hooks, and tape

Directions

• Precut one 4" square of contact paper and two strings (one 3" and one 11") for each child.
• Each Star Catcher uses two Stars accents. Cut out the centers of the accents to create star-shaped frames. Save the center cut-out pieces for later.

Activity

• Everyone selects two star frames, two cut-out centers, a variety of stickers, and one long and short length of string.
• Students tear colored tissue paper or cut Washi tape into small pieces. They stick the colorful pieces to the contact paper square in creative patterns.
• Shape the 3" string into a loop for hanging and stick the ends to the contact paper. Cut the 11" string into many pieces or leave it as one long, dangling piece. Stick the string(s) to the contact paper, leaving the ends loose.
• Place the contact paper between two of the star frames. Tape or glue the stars together. Trim excess contact paper.
• Decorate the dangling string(s) by sandwiching the string between star centers and stickers.
• Use repositionable hooks or tape to hang the Star Catchers in a sunny window.

Watch the light shine through the catchers and enjoy!

BONUS: Design Star Catchers for someone special! Children make unique patterns or smiley faces in the tissue paper centers and write messages on the dangling stars. What a great way to add cheer to someone’s day!
